Introduction
The purpose of this course is to help you get through the thesis research process by focusing on a key step: designing a research proposal.

As you know, this is the year where you write a thesis. Your thesis proposal will be evaluated by your advisor and the departmental committee for graduate studies (DCGS). mas940 is intended to help you organize your ideas, manage the scope of your proposal, plan for the structure and format of a thesis, and review your proposal with your classmates. It's easy to hide within the walls of your research group. This course gives you a chance to collaborate with others in the laboratory.

Goals
  1. Each student will complete a thesis proposal.
  2. Each student will discuss their research and their proposal with their classmates and other peers.
