TwirLED
I wanted to make a dress that lights up when you spin, because such a dress would be a joyous, magical something.
I wanted to make a dress that I would happily wear- a NICE dress: nicely made, nice looking, nice materials, and nice -feeling.
The video above shows a working prototype, and the image above will light up in ~ 2 weeks!
(A paragraph discussing my experience can be found at the end of the following sequence of images!)
Initial Concept
Half-scale Prototype
Life-size Version (work-in-progress)
Experience Overall working on the final project was a positive experience. I am a tiny bit disappointed that when I finished constructing the big version of the dress, the soft-circuit did not work. It was sort of to-be-expected, because I was really rushing during the construction, and so probably created a number of shorts.
Working with soft circuits is sort of fundamentally different than working with 'traditional circuits'. The basic construction just takes a lot of time. It's pretty important to be careful and not rush, because mistakes takes a long time to fix.
