Information and Communication Technologies for Development

My name is Akani Rodriguez and I am a second year MBA student at Sloan. I was borned and raised in Mexico, where I worked as a management consultant before coming to MIT. I majored in Economics and worked for some time as a research assistant in the Mexican Central Bank
I came from a country where half of the population lives in poverty and I believe the current state of technology offers a great chance to bring progress to them through ICT4D. Although the answer sounds as simple as that, there are immense challenges to leverage technology to bridge that gap. Through this class I hope to get a better understanding of the road map one could follow to actually take those out of poverty
