Hello everyone. I too (like Rich below) consider it a great privilege to be of help to you all as you do your projects for this class. I'm very excited at the potential of this class, with all you great students working on all these great projects from our partners. So I'm looking forward to the results!
As for my background ... I'm originally from the Philippines, and came to MIT for grad studies in 1993. I finished my Ph.D. in 2001, and went back to the Philippines to teach at Ateneo de Manila University. It was there that I had the experience of starting an R&D center working with a mobile operator and doing a wide variety of J2ME, SMS, and MMS applications. I've seen the power of even "simple" services and technologies to make a difference, and I hope that's one thing that you will appreciate in this class too.
