- Lecture: Programmable Materials (by Jifei Ou)
This lecture will explore the work of Jifei Ou and Lining Yao in programmable materials including pneumatic shape change, jamming and sensing of shape change. - Workshop: Pneuduino (by Jifei Ou + Lining)
In this workshop, we will show you how to use Pneuduino (based on the arduino platform) to create pneumatic shape change for your first project. - Any remaining time will be spent sharing the ideas you came up with in your groups

Since its inception as an article in Interactions 2012, the vision has remained fluid, continually challenging the students of TMG to think outside the screen. Today, TMG Staff will discuss their work and their unique take on the Radical Atoms Vision:

In today’s class we will explore the shape changing interface: Shape Displays. Beginning with a lecture from Daniel Leithinger who has pushed Shape Display research in TMG with ground breaking works such as Relief, inForm, Transform and most recently a display in the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York. Following this we will run a workshop and split into two groups: those who wish to code in javascript and those who wish to code in OpenFrameworks.

Professor F. Omenetto is the Associate Dean of Research at the Department of Engineering and a Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Tufts University.
