Constraint-based Modelling Tool

What if 3D modeling tools such as Rhino / Solidworks / BIM Software etc., used for architectural and product design practice had limitations (set parameters) so that as something is designed in 3D, it would calculate estimates of the materials being used, and if the pre-defined materials or budget allowance runs out, the modeling tool would no longer let the designer add any more to the design, and instead the designer must work with the material they have.

The tool could take real-time data from economic fluctuations, which could feedback into the physical representation of the model. For example, if the price of concrete were to increase the size of a building may decrease dependent on budget.

This tool could work with the shape display for real-time articulation of architectural models, or as a simulation tool for financial parameters within the design phase of the architectural process.
