What’s your favorite thing you’ve made?
The “Windbell” (viewable in “product prototyping” in my portfolio) has to be my favorite project so far. It’s not very technically or mechanically complex, nor is it necessarily the most beautiful thing I’ve made. However, what makes it so memorable is that, even in the midst of a stressful exam week, it drew my peers to physically interact with this foreign object and be brought back to a childlike state of exploration. A video of various reactions to the Windbell is viewable here: https://vimeo.com/93691768

What’s the most frustrating object you’ve used?
The right-handed desk.

What do you personally hope to get out of this class?
I hope to expand my design perspective further than just the traditional engineering problem-solving method of design, to learn to extract principles from the digital realm (and others) to inform the development of physical products, and vise versa. Ideally, my team would come out of the course with a product that will impact the way people think about and explore a whole realm of products.

How can you contribute to the class?
I believe I can contribute a naive passion and charisma for design and exploration, as well as a few rapid prototyping and technical skills.
