Sampling E-14

Sampling E-14 comes from the idea of rather than creating a new layer of sounds to map the media lab one can use the existing ambient noises that separate spaces to create an audio map. By sampling and looping the ambient noise of different spaces we create and audio palette representing the different sonic characters across the media lab. Once a user specifies a destination A linear path is created through adding the samples sequentially according to the spaces that user will pass through before reaching their destination. This gives the user a compressed audio preview of the journey they are about to take through the building. By familiarizing the user with the spaces they are about to through the building is given an audio identity and the user is given a key to recognize and orient themselves within it.

File attachments are not having it so I am just putting files in my mit directory here are the links

great!

Really interesting stuff. I'd like to pursue some of these ideas when we move to the new building.
