four modes of wayfinding: ideas of collecting useful spatial information

The proposed wayfinding system is more of a connection-revealing system. The major aim of the system is to use the screens placed throughout E14/E15 to make the users of all of the spaces within feel more connected to the various activities and ideas percolating throughout.

All four modes are relatively rough ideas at the moment, and it may be that all of these cannot be developed equally towards the final proposal. However, the modes all try to investigate spatial activity and collect useful information in an effort to rethink the potential of flexible spaces within a static architecture.

very interesting

Haruka - I really enjoyed reading this. I'm particularly interested in modes 2 and 3. I had thought of something like 2 before, but the time portal never occurred to me. I was wondering if the other modes, like mode 1, could also be thought of as a kind of portal, but to a different scale? It would be interesting to think about how all these modes might intersect and overlap. I'm also wondering how the map representation is done - and how it might adapt and interact with what is a rather complex arrangement of spaces. As I mentioned to a few other people, the double height spaces present a particular problem when using plan representations. I wonder if the portal concept could also be applied as a solution to this problem. Good job - I'm looking forward to more@
