Tests finished

We have finished our projection tests. Images from tests on the model can be found here. Daniel took pictures of our tests outside, these can be found here.
Both really look great, so we think we are in a really good shape! Please keep in mind that the model photos of course look really good in the way they are shot, and might look different when you stand in front of the model.

Please vote in the comment section which way you prefer.

E14 Projection Test Photos

Here are some photos and video I took took of the test projections. Sorry about the blurriness— I should have brought a tripod. These haven't been tweaked at all; the results where quite spectacular.

Facade Performance Sketches

1. An interface that teaches the process of constructing anamorphic perspectives using the e14 facade as a canvas

2. Muriel Cooper Tribute - Using the wrong tools for the job. Just as she used computers have challenged the traditional tools in the design process how can we challenge the conventions of computers as tools

3. Corporate Sponsor critique

Sampling E-14

Sampling E-14 comes from the idea of rather than creating a new layer of sounds to map the media lab one can use the existing ambient noises that separate spaces to create an audio map. By sampling and looping the ambient noise of different spaces we create and audio palette representing the different sonic characters across the media lab. Once a user specifies a destination A linear path is created through adding the samples sequentially according to the spaces that user will pass through before reaching their destination. This gives the user a compressed audio preview of the journey they are about to take through the building. By familiarizing the user with the spaces they are about to through the building is given an audio identity and the user is given a key to recognize and orient themselves within it.

File attachments are not having it so I am just putting files in my mit directory here are the links

Activating the Ear

Designed to make us question the way our hearing system operates, these proposals slightly disrupt the normal ways in which our ears and brains deal with sound.

Waves and Radiation

We're already familiar with electronic devices such as radios and geiger counters that use audio to reveal invisible aspects of our physical world. This system extends the analogy through a personal device that translates the structure and spaces of E14 into audible traces.

it is a little painful, well for me especially because it is so hard to listen to yourself!
